HISTORY OF DRAVIDA MUNNETRA KAHAGAM(DRAVIDANS PROGRESSIVE PARTY )

Periar EV Ramasamy naicker was the founder of Dravida

Kazhagam(Dravidans Party ) after he left from the Justice

Party.Sri.C.N.Anna durai and M.karunannidhi were the active

Members of Dravida Kazhagam and the Dravida Munnetra

Kahagam was formed in 1949by  Sri, Anna durai after the

Difference of opinion between E.V.Ramasamy naicker and him

Over the issue of Periar second marriage with much younger

Lady Maniammai and announcing her as his successor to the

Party .DMK was very popular with youngster as it oppose

Imposition of hindi in south india and their principles like

Separate Dravidian state for dravidans and their no god

Movements.

In the first assembly election DMK was able to get only

A few seats in tamilnadu assembly and during the 1967

Election it was able to win with absolute majority and DMK

Government was formed under the chief Minister sri.Anna

Durai . Unfortunately in 1969 Sri.Anna durai died due to cancer

And there was a  tussle between the senior member of the party

Sri.nedunchehian and Mr >M.Karunanidhi about who is to

Continue as the chief minister and majority senior member

Like mathialagan ,MGR has supported Mr.M.Karunanidhi

And a party president post was created to accommodate

Sri.nedunchehian and Mr. Karunanidhi has continued as CM

For 6 successive time which was a record in his political

History . Mr.Karunanidhi is a brainy person with great

Administrative capability with strong political back ground

Unlike M/S Jayalalitha who has become ADMK party

President over night without any political experience and

Administrative capabilities

Iam a strong supporter of DMK right from my younger days

And I have to admit the bitter truth that the DMK party

Is sinking gradually.There are various reason for this set back

Once Mr.Karunanidhi was a terror to the congress party and now his

Party has become submissive to Congress over the political issues

The reason behind this is the so called involvement of  M/S Kanimozhi

His daughter and Mr.raja  in the 2G spectrum Scandal and the party

Image was completely destroyed beyond imagination . Secondly failure

Of Mr.karunanidhi as a CM in urging The central government to stop

Killing of Tamil civilians in Srilanka by the dictator and merciless

Killer “Raja Bakse “ And finally there is power struggle between

His eldest son MK.Alagiri and his younger son MK Stalin over who is

The successor after him and the real fact is there is no suitable

Senior person to run the party in a good way . Most of the time

Mr.karunanidhi was concentrating more on the family problem rather

Than concentrating on the different issues with his alliance party
